The hotel comprises the 24-storey 528-room Garden Wing and the recently opened, 142-room Valley Wing. The Valley Wing includes the Blu Lobster restaurant (a contemporary restaurant and lounge), a new, state-of-the-art health club which includes a 25-meter heated indoor swimming pool, and a rooftop garden.
The new wing is also home of one of the most luxurious spa facilities in Beijing: Chi, The Spa at Shangri-La. The function spaces feature an expansive Grand Ballroom and 13 elegant multi-purpose function rooms, making the Shangri-La Hotel, Beijing a premier location for conventions and events.
The River Dragon
The River Dragon, a 38-person touring boat, moors at the Shangri-La Hotel, Beijing. From April to November, the boat offers 4 cruises daily to the spectacular Summer Palace, including a guided tour.
Exclusive to the Shangri-La Hotel, Beijing, the boat trip recreates the imperial route that many past Chinese Emperors and Empresses enjoyed. The one-hour ride on the Kun Yu River offers views of old bridges, temples and traditional Chinese courtyard houses on the riverbanks. In today's modern Beijing, the tour showcases a slice of Beijing local life that appears virtually frozen in time.
The River Dragon is available for special charter, lunch/ dinner cruises and cocktail receptions. Chartered tours can also include an on-board calligraphy class, a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, a private concert featuring traditional Chinese musical instruments, or other authentic cultural offerings.

Centrally located near the financial district, Shangri-La Hotel, Beijing is an excellent hub from which to experience Beijing. Whether arranging a private car, hailing a taxi or directing you to the nearby light rail line, our hotel staff are there to help you and ensure you arrive at your selected destination comfortably and on time.
Airport Connections
Shangri-La Hotel, Beijing is 40 minutes from Beijing Capital International Airport. As traffic can be very hectic around the airport, pre-arranged transportation is recommended, especially for first-time visitors to Beijing.

Taxis
All taxis in Beijing are cheap and plentiful, and always on the lookout for customers. Most taxis are metered with the same start up rate at RMB10 for the first 3KM, thereafter RMB2 per km. Taxis are available at the hotel or may be hailed from the street.
Buses
The Beijing bus system is both extensive and economical. However, please note that service may be irregular and buses are often crowded during peak hours.
Light Rail (subway)
Beijing's light rail system offers rapid service to major business and shopping districts. Please note that the light rail may be crowded during peak rush hours.
Trains
Trains offer an efficient, scenic way of travelling within China. Trains link most parts of the country with reliable service. You may travel in one of four classes: Soft Seat or Soft Sleeper with air conditioning; and the Hard Seat or Hard Sleeper.
Private Car with Driver
Getting around the city in a car and a driver is a safe and comfortable transport option. Rates start at RMB500 (approximately USD65) for the first two hours, within Beijing city limits. Please inquire at our Concierge desk for more details.
Tour Coach
Tour coach is an excellent way for groups to comfortably explore Beijing. Shangri-La Hotel Beijing can arrange coach tours to The Great Wall, Summer Palace, Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and the Hutong (old Beijing alley).
